Learning outcomes are clear, specific statements that describe what participants are expected to know, be able to do, or demonstrate as a result of participating in a program, course, or training. They articulate the intended changes in knowledge, skills, behaviors, or attitudes that occur through learning-based activities and are commonly used in education, workforce development, youth programs, and professional training initiatives.
Learning outcomes focus on the participant—not the content being delivered—and provide a shared understanding of what success looks like at the end of a learning experience.
